Mamidikaya Thurumu pachadi/Grated Mango pickle

Ingredients for Mamidikaya Thurumu
pachadi/Grated Mango pickle


  • 2 Cups grated mango
  • half cup oil
  • 3 table spoons salt (as per taste)
  • 3 table spoons red chilli powder
  • 1 tea spoon haldi
  • 8 t0 10 garlic pods (mashed)
  • 1/4 tea spoon hing
  • 3 table spoons rai 
  • 2 tea spoons jeera
  • 1 tea spoon methi
  • 3 to 4 red chillies

Grated mango


Dry roast jeera and methi separately.  Grind 3 table spoons rai, roasted jeera and methi together in a mixie to fine powder.  Now take the grated mango into a large bowl.  Add the grounded rai, jeera and methi powder, red chilli powder, haldi and salt to it.  Mix well and keep it aside.

Allow the thadka to cool      

Heat half cup of oil in a pan.  Add a tea spoon of rai, hing, red chillies and mashed garlic to it.  Fry for few sec. and switch off the flame.  Allow the thadka to cool.  When the thadka is completely cooled add it to the pickle and mix well. Tasty Mamidikaya Thurumu pachadi/Grated Mango pickle is ready...........Store it in a air tight container.......This pickle can be served on the same day after preparing... And can also be stored in the refrigerator...........Tastes good with rice, rotis or paratas.........
