Onions : 3 to 4 Nos. (medium)
Green chillies : 2 to 3 Nos.
Red chillies : 2 Nos.
Rai (mustard) : 1tea spoon
Jeera : 1tea spoon
Urad dal : 1tea spoon
Dhaniya (whole) : 2 tea spoons
Salt : 1tea spoon(as per taste)
Oil : 1 and 1\2 table spoon
Tamarind : 1\2 lemon size
Sugar : 1\2 tea spoon (your choice)
Take a pan, heat 1 table spoon of oil. Add Dhaniya, Jeera and Urad dal. Let jeera splutter, add cut green chillies and onions and fry until the onions become pink in color. Let cool, add salt, sugar, tamarind and sufficient water and grind into thick paste.
Heat 1\2 table spoon oil in a pan, add Rai and Red chillies. Let the Rai splutter, add the thadka to the Onion chutney.
This chutney is good to have with Dosa, Idli, Utappam, Vada etc..
