Aloo masala curry

Boiled potatoes


Masala Paste


  • Aloo (potatoes)       :                1\4 Kg
  • Onions                   :                2 nos medium size
  • Green  chillies         :                2 nos
  • Jeera                      :                1 tea spoon
  • Dhaniya (whole)      :                2  tea spoon
  • Kuju                       :                10 to 12 nos
  • (instead of Kaju you can take 2 teaspoons of grated
  • coconut)
  • Lavang   (cloves)     :                3 to 4 nos
  •  Dalchini                 :                1 small piece
  • Ginger                    :                1\2 inch
  • Garlic                     :                8 to 10 flakes
  • Mirchi Powder            
  • (red chilli powder)    :                1\2 tea spoon
  • Haldi (saffron)         :                1\2 tea spoon
  • Oil                          :                1 and 1\2 tbsp                       
  • Dhaniya and pudina(mint) for garnish



Boil Potatoes in a pressure cooker, peal and cut into medium size pieces.

Grind Onions, green chillies,jeera,dhaniya,kaju,  lavang, dalchini, ginger and garlic into fine paste and keep aside.

Heat 1 and 1\2 table spoon of oil in a pan.  Fry the masala paste turns to golden brown in a medium flame.  Add Haldi and mirchi powder.  To it add potatoes and stir well.  Add salt and fry for 5 mins. in a low flame.

Aloo masala curry is ready.......Take it into a serving bowl garnish with fresh dhaniya and mint leaves.

Tastes Good with Rotis, Chapatis and Rice.
