Aloo palak curry/Palakoora aloo curry

Ingredients for Aloo palak curry/Palakoora aloo curry


  • 3 medium size potatoes
  • 1 bunch of palak (spinach)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tea spoons ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tea spoon chilli powder
  • 1 tea spoon dhaniya powder
  • 1 tea spoon salt (as per taste)
  • 1/2 tea spoon haldi
  • 2 table spoons oil
  • 2 to 3 cloves
  • 1/2 inch Cinnamon.  

Palak paste, boiled aloo and ginger garlic paste


Boil palak for 5 mins and let it cool.  Make a fine paste in a blender and keep it aside.  Boil  potatoes peal and cut them into pieces.  Heat 2 table spoons of in a pan.  Add cloves and cinnamon to it .  When cloves starts spluttering add finely chopped onions and fry until they turn pink.  Now add ginger garlic paste and stir.  Cook for few sec. and add chilli powder, haldi powder and dhaniya powder.  Mix well and add boiled and chopped potatoes.  Cook for few mins and add Palak paste to it.  Add salt mix well close the lid and cook in a low flame for 5 mins. 

Switch off the flame and take the Aloo Palak curry into a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.  Tastes good with Rotis, Chapatis or Steamed rice.
