Bread Ke Pakode



Bread slices        :        3 to 4

Gram flour(besan):        1 cup

Rice powder        :        2 table spoons

soda bicarb.        :        ¼ tea spoon

Chilly powder      :        ½ tea spoon

Salt                     :       ½ tea spoon

Hing                    :       ¼ tea spoon


(carom seeds)       :       ½ tea spoon

Finely chopped 

dhaniya leaves      :       2 table spoons

Oil                       :        for deep fry

Basen batter


Cut the edges of the bread slices and make triangular pieces.  

Take a bowl, put besan, rice powder, soda bicarb, chilly powder, salt, ajwain and finely chopped dhaniya leaves.  Mix well, add sufficient water and make a smooth batter.  The batter should not be neither thick nor very loose.(medium)

fry until golden brown

Now heat oil in a pan.  Dip the bread slices in the batter and deep fry until golden brown.  Yummy Bread Pakora is

ready...........Serve hot with sauce or any chutney..

A small tip:

What will you do with the cut edges of the bread slices?  Don't throw away.  Add some besan, rice powder, salt, Ajwain, chilly powder, chopped curry leaves, dhaniya leaves, onions and sufficient water (the batter should be thick) and make  crispy pakoras.  Try...
