Chakli (murukku)

Ingredients Chakli (murukku)


Rice powder                    :        2 cups

Roasted chana dal powder:        1/2 cup

(buni hui chana dal)

(putnal pappu)

Roasted Phalli powder     :        1/4 cup

Besan (gram flour)          :         1/2 cup    

Ghee                                       1 table spoon

Ajwain    (carom seeds)   :        1/2 tea spoon

Til                                 :        1 tea spoon

Red chilli powder            :        1 tea spoon

salt                               :         1 tea spoon         

                                              (as per taste)

Oil                                :          For deep fry


Dough for Chakli (murukku)       

Take big bowl and mix Rice powder. phalli powder and roasted chana dal powder well.  Heat 1 table spoon ghee and add to the mixture and mix well.  To it add salt, mirchi powder, ajwain, til and sufficient water,  knead well and make dough.  

Take a frying pan and heat sufficient oil for deep fry.  Place small balls of dough in a chakli mould and deep fry chaklis in oil until golden brown.  Tasty chaklis (muruku) are ready........

Let cool and store in a air tight container.
