Palak ke pakode/Palakoora pakodi

Ingredients for Palak ke pakode/Palakoora pakodi


  • 1 bunch of palak (1bowl of chopped palak)
  • 1 cup besan
  • 2 table spoons rice powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions (optional)
  • a pinch of soda bi carb 
  • (if you want to prepare crispy pakoras no need to add soda bi carb)
  • 1 tea spoon salt (as per taste)
  • 1 tea spoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tea spoon Ajwain (carom seeds)
  • few curry leaves
  • Oil for deep fry

Method:  Clean and wash palak.  Drain, chop and take it into a large bowl.  To it add besan, rice powder, soda bicarb (optional),red chilli powder, salt, curry leaves, onions (optional) and ajwain.  

Thick batter for Palak ke pakode/Palakoora pakodi 

Mix well and make a thick batter.  Add water only if it is necessary.  You can see in the above picture.

Palak ke pakode/Palakoora pakodi deep fried in oil  

Heat sufficient oil in a pan for deep fry in a pan.  With your fingers drop small pakoras in the oil and fry until golden color.

Remove from the oil, drain on a kitchen paper and serve hot with tomato sauce or any chutney.

Tasty Palak ke pakode/Palakoora pakodilu are ready.........enjoy............
