                                                                  Madras Pepper Rasam

 

Ingredients :

  • 1tbsp     Pepper
  • 1tbsp     Cumin seeds
  • 2 no’s    Red chilies
  • 2 no’s    Garlic pods
  • Few       Coriander leaves and curry leaves
  • 1 cup    Tamarind juice
  • 2 no       tomatoes
  • 1tsp       mustard seeds
  • 1tsp       cumin seeds
  • 1tsp       urad dal
  • 1tsp turmeric powder
  • 1tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

Method :

Grind tomatoes raw and mix with tamarind juice. Keep it aside.  Now grind pepper, cumin, red chilies, garlic and coriander and curry leaves roughly and keep it aside.

In a pan take oil fry mustard, cumin and urad dal add the grinded mixture of pepper. Add turmeric and then tamarind and tomato juice with required salt. Boil for 2 minutes and garnish with coriander leaves.
