Aloo-Hara Moong ki sabzi/Alugada pesalu koora

Ingredients

• 1 cup green gram (Hara Moong/Pesarlu) (soaked over night)
• 2 potatoes (pealed and chopped to medium size pieces)
• 2 tomatoes
• 1 onion
• 2 green chillies
• 5 garlic pods
• 1/2 inch ginger
• 2 table spoons chopped coriander leaves
• 1 tea spoon red chilli powder
• 1 tea spoon dhaniya powder  
• 1/2 tea spoon haldi
• salt to taste
• 1 tea spoon sugar
• 1 tea spoon shahi jeera
• 2 table spoons of oil

Method

Grind onion, green chillies, garlic, ginger, tomatoes and coriander leaves together in a mixie to fine paste and keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pressure pan.  Add shahi jeera to it.  When it starts spluttering add the ground paste.  Cook in a medium flame until the oil starts separating.  Now add red chilli powder, salt, sugar, dhaniya powder and haldi.  Cook for few mins.  Drain the soaked moong dal .  Now add the potatoes and the moong dal to it.  Add one and a cup of water and close the lid.  Cook for 2 to 3 whistles in the pressure pan.  

Take the curry into a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.......
