Mix all the ingredients with chicken and keep it aside for 1 to 2 hours for marination.
Ingredients for biryani:
Rice: 2 cups
Chicken: Half-a-kilo
Onions: 1 no.
Oil
Salt to taste
Garam masala: cloves, cinnamon, bayleaves and Dalchini
1 tea spoon shahi jeera
Mint and coriander leaves
Water
Method
Fry onions in a pan with a tbsp of oil till brown and keep it aside.
Take rice, wash it properly and soak it in water for at least half an hour. Take water in a thick bottomed pan, add a tbsp of oil, garam masala like cloves, dalchini and bay leaves, shahi jeera and add salt. Let it boil and then add rice.
Let the rice get half cooked. Then drain the water out of the rice and keep the rice aside.
Take a thick bottomed pan spray some oil in the bottom of the pan. Put the marinated chicken into it. Now spread the half cooked basmati rice.
Spread the fried onions, chopped mint and coriander leaves. Close it tight with a wet towel and a lid as shown in pic below. Cook it at a very low flame for 30- 40 minutes.
