Things you need to start with: ​

cloth for painting
frame
fabric colors
6 no round brush
water for cleaning the brush
a rag for cleaning the brush




Fix the cloth to the frame tightly.  (I have uploaded my video where you can see how the painting is being done.  Even though it has been done on a plain white paper, it can be done easily on the fabric too.)

Now select any three colors (I have used orange white and blue here).  Paint them on your thumb as shown in the video.  Now place your thumb on the fabric and make two impressions.  Load the brush with green color and try to paint the trunk of the tree, branches etc.  Now load  the brush with green, add a little lemon yellow color to the tip of the brush and start painting the leaves as shown in the video.  After that, clean the brush and load it with blue color.  Try to paint the bird's tail, feathers etc. with the red color and paint the bird's beak and eyes with black color.  Hence, the above method presents a simple and easy way of using your thumb impressions for painting.............try it...........
